Ooooh, Shiny.

6 Feb

It has been quite some time since I’ve done any housecleaning or upkeep around here.  Last year I was all “let’s add a custom header” and “yay widgets!” and this year I’m, well, lazy.

Enough of that.  So I’m starting small with a shiny, new widget on the right hand side labeled “Down the Rabbit Hole”.  There, you can click to go out to a random post somewhere in the deep recesses of my brain of yore.  Don’t get too excited, but I might even add a picture there eventually.

Today, I shall encourage you to use it for your weekly fix.

And I’m still working out, by the way. In case you were curious, I have not yet suffocated under a pile of Ranch Doritos in front of my computer, scrolling the Health and Fitness category of Pinterest, wishing I could be doing the things in the picture instead of shoving my fat face.

Operation Fat Ass 365 is still a go.

Fat Ass, out.

    How’s Level 3 treating you?

I hate it. I’m over it. Anyway, it’s taken longer than 30 days to do the 30 day shred because some days I skip it and go for a run instead. I have 5 sessions left and I’m definitely ready to try the next thing. That being said, it’s pretty darn effective. Not in terms of weight loss but in terms of looks and strength. I’m up for suggestions re: my next fitness endeavor. 365 days is a long time.

Jillian has another ‘Ripped in 30’ dvd that has four levels of 20-minute workouts. She also has ‘Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism’, which is a 45-minute workout that would give you a nice challenge after completing the 30-Day Shred. Yeah, I never did the 30-days thing. I never work out more than 4 times a week.

She also has a butt and thighs one, which I could totally use. I don’t know which one to do next. WHAT SHOULD I DOOOO

Eh, I’m not one for those kind of specific-body-area-type workouts. I’d say move along to ‘Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism’. It’s 45 min., total, but it has six-minute segments you can mix and match. High-intensity! Basically, do whatever will motivate you. If you wanna go for butt and thighs, knock yourself out! I’m sending you good workout thoughts!

Awesome – I’ve heard wonderful things about Banish Fat.. but the 45 minute thing scares the bejeezus out of me. For now I’m working on Ripped in 30. I’d like to someday conquer one of her longer exercises. Maybe. If I don’t grow to hate her. 😉 Thanks for the encouragement!

Don’t be scared of longer workouts – you can work up to them. I’ve done a little of Ripped in 30, just the first two segments, but I plan on checking them all out, soon enough. And is it just me, or does Jillian act cuh-ray-zee in those Ripped workouts? I’ve never seen a woman simulate biting another woman’s butt more times in 20 minutes… Too bad she picked up that cocaine habit when she got famous…

There certainly is a LOT of ass-biting in that video. I think I’m going to do the Burn Fat, Boost… after I’m done with Ripped in 30. The running program I plan to follow calls for cross training days and I think that would make a nice complement to the running. Thanks for the suggestion!
